Procrastinators UNITE!

I’m just being lazy. Anyway this past weekend went by like a blur. As you might have known the 2 of the Sakata sisters were in Kyoto since Wednesday. The apartment has never been so packed. I thought that the place was pretty big but with the two sisters sleeping in the living room, I guess the place isn’t so big. I guess we just have to keep in mind when other people want to stay over.

Anyway we taught them how to use the buses and trains since we were going to be in work. They seemed to do ok but they admitted to getting lost on the first day alone. I was a little worried about them coming because out of the all the Sakata siblings Kazue and Kumiko were the ones to fight the most. It was a constant bickering battle between the two of them. Anyway the first day when they got lost they told us about their little scuffle and I just laughed to myself because I could picture both of them being wrong and arguing who was more wrong.

Kumiko: See Kazue I told you we were going the wrong way. If we keep going this way (west) we’re gonna hit Okinawa.

Kazue: Don’t be stupid Kumiko, Okinawa is in the north.

The two of them really crack me up. I also thought it was pretty cool that they came to visit because I miss picking on someone. (aka Denyse) It was refreshing to have younger siblings in the house to bothering again. I guess the spirit of the older brother never really goes away.

This past Saturday we had another kickball day. It was our last practice before the big game this Sunday against the FU’s. Anyway I was doing my normal routine out in left field when I went for a normal pop up and I totally pulled my back muscle. I thought I went for along time without it coming back but then on a simple catch it just went out. Why did it have to go out now, a week before the big game? At least it’s not as bad as it was the last time I throw it out. My back is actually doing much better today and everyday it gets a little better. With the help of the Shiatsu masseuse Krystal and Advil I should be all good for the game.

This week was a fun week because of my new elementary school Junpu. Yeah I know it sounds funny but the kids here are really cute and not at all jaded about English. I have 3rd to 6th here and this is the first time that they have had an ALT. Last year they had that pseudo English program called Frontier Kids but I’m here to make native speakers out of all of them. The kids are so good here and are willing to try anything. I played four different games using “Hello, my name is _________. Nice to meet you.” And no one complained once. I forgot about the rush you get when you go to a new elementary school. Crappy thing is that I leave after tomorrow. The school is really small and there’s only one class per grade so I’m only allotted three visits at a time. Next time I come back would be sometime in November.

In other news it’s hot like crazy here. I wonder if it’s hotter than Hawaii but I can’t really remember how the weather was like back home. I mean I remember being in the house all sweaty but with a fan I could live. Here all the fan does is move hot air around. We’re supposed to wear long pants to school at least jeans I think but it was o hot yesterday that I wore shorts and no one has really said anything to me. This just means I’m gonna ride my “foreigner card” out until someone says that I need to wear long pants to school. It like 90 degrees outside with a 80% humidity. I’m so not wearing long pants tomorrow. I miss the cold weather already…

I guess that’s it for now.

Break it Down
