Pub Quiz, Dooku Style...

Sorry it’s been a while since I last blogged. After my fight with viruses I couldn’t wait to get back into the groove of things at school. It has been about 2 weeks since my last stomach attack and I feel awesome. One of the main reasons is because my buddies Jake and Lauren should be coming to Japan in little over a week. The thing I miss the most is just cruising with them. Never is it a dull moment with Dooku and J-Bob on the scene. I guess I’m really excited about the partying that we plan to do. The last time Lauren was in Japan, she was getting over some kind of stomach thing and she came down with Lisa and Kristen with an agenda of Kyoto. They also came down when we were still newbies in Japan (about 2 months) so we didn’t know where everything was. We still don’t know where everything is but at least we have a few places we can go to have a good time. And the last time Jake came to Japan it was with the school band and you all you know what school trips can be like right? No alcohol and no fun… but not this time.

Another thing that’s keeping me going is our trip to China during Golden Week. Lisa is really trying to hard to put the trip together and I think the “passion” for China is starting bloom. Earlier this month when were brainstorming on where we should go for Golden Week, a lot of places were thrown in the air. But Lisa sold us on the idea of going to China. At first I wasn’t all that eager to go to China but as the days are pass we figure out more and more about what the trip is going to be like. First of all we’re going to another country. We plan to stop in Beijing, Xian, and Shanghai. The more Lisa gets things done the more it sounds like it’s going to rock.

It’s my last stretch of elementary school for this school year and all the students seem to be pretty good. I’ve been having tons of fun playing at recess and after school that when I get home I’m totally exhausted. I can usually make it to 11 or 12 pretty easily but nowadays the 12th hour seems harder and harder to get too. Not to mention that there’s a lot of stuff going on this week.

This coming Saturday is the semi-monthly Pub Quiz. Originally it started out as a fundraiser for Oxfam but now its just fun to get together to eat, drink, and answer some trivia. My friends Amie and Steve are the ones that usually run it but they wanted to give the answering a shot so my friend Kevin and I decided to run the quiz. The thirst of revenge was pretty strong and we really wanted to make everyone pay for putting us through the living hell of losing the first Pub Quiz. And by losing I mean finishing dead last amongst 8 teams. Our last Pub Quiz, we redeemed ourselves by coming in first but I want to be on the question end. I want everyone else to feel, flustered, irritated, and frustrated during the quiz just as I always feel. Anyway with all this plotting you would think the quiz would be easy right? Wrong. It is a very grueling process to make the quiz. Not because of all the questions but because the diversity in age, sex, and home country of the participants. Amie and Steve warned us about making the quiz diverse enough so that we wouldn’t get heckled for making a biased quiz. And that’s where the hard part comes in. For example I must have put about 8 hours into researching but only came out with 2 rounds of the quiz. We accomplished a lot yesterday but we still have a few rounds to finish up. The quiz is on Saturday and it seems we might be working on this thing until the quiz start time.

But everything else in the world seems to be passing along quite steadily. Just one more week and its going to be nomihoudais everyday!!
